Career Solutions does more than just help you write a résumé, we also create your cover letters, reference sheet, and follow-up letters. Once we have your information, we’ll do the rest. First we’ll provide you with a list of skills and verbs to help you articulate what to put in your professional summary, then help you summarize your work history and education. The second draft phase focuses on style: we’ll give your résumé the modern graphic appeal that will get it noticed by employers, and also help you choose which of your skills would be best suited for the specific jobs you’re applying for.
How it works:
Career Solutions will create your first Résumé and Cover Letter draft based on
the information you provide in the Employment Prep Package. We'll send
the draft to you for a revision, and make any changes you want.
A résumé gets you into the interview, but it’s your interviewing skills that will ultimately get you the job. It’s one thing to read a book with sample answers to tough questions, but it’s another thing to actually do it: that’s why Career Solutions spends time coaching you through the interview process and practicing for different scenarios. We encourage you to participate in at least three practice interviews, which can also be videotaped to enable you to see for yourself the areas you need to work on and the progress you achieve.
How it works:
The Mock Interviews and Job Shadows are organized on an individual
basis. With the mock interviews, we can come to your home so you feel
comfortable, or to your school or office, and while not required, we do
recommend video recording these practice interviews, which we can do digitally.
You just pay for our time and the cost of making a copy of our tape.

Job Shadows and Internships are the only ways you can really “test drive” a career before you get into it. If you’re already committed to a career, they can assist you in developing current relevant skills and a work history in your field. Most importantly, you will make connections with people currently in the industry who can help you with networking and references, and oftentimes people who take the time to set up an Internship or Job Shadow will be offered a position after they’ve proven themselves.
How it works:
Career Solutions will set up a Job Shadow for you by contacting local
employers.
Career Solutions helps you set up and utilize a database of potential employers that will help you search for a job more efficiently. We can find the employer contact information for you, or you can find it yourself. A database is a great tool for assembling and tracking all of the employers that you’ve targeted for your job search, and will enable you to electronically manage your applications, follow up letters and requests for second interviews with a few clicks of a mouse.
How it works:
The Custom Employer Databases we build for you start with a detailed
profile of the kinds of companies you are looking to work for, where in the
region or country you want to work, and how many employers you want to target.
Career Solutions does all the research and data entry for you, and can even show
you how to do advanced functions like Mail Merges so you can customize cover
letters and labels for mass-mailings.
Career Solutions offers discount pricing for low-income families.
